BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza met with Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI) National President Marvin Madrigalejo and the organizationโ€™s officers on September 29, 2026, to discuss areas of cooperation between the BIR and accounting professionals in commerce and industry.

ACPACI expressed appreciation for the BIRโ€™s initiatives on the Ease of Closing Business and the Abatement Program for Micro Taxpayers, and conveyed its interest in supporting taxpayer education activities related to BIR reforms. The BIR and ACPACI also discussed possible collaboration on taxpayer education, particularly on the Electronic Invoicing System (EIS), as well as continuing consultations on tax and compliance concerns.

Commissioner Mendoza highlighted the faster processing of VAT refund applications, with timelines closely monitored by the BIR.

He also discussed the Bureauโ€™s system-assisted selection of taxpayers for audit as part of its continuing audit reforms.

Joining Commissioner Mendoza were Assistant Commissioners Mariza R. Uy and Rowena Altura, Tax Audit Review Division Chief Junjun B. Andallo, Taxpayer Service Program and Monitoring Division Chief Elenita Mariano, and other BIR officials.

ACPACI was represented by National President Marvin Madrigalejo, Executive Vice President Maria Nerissa Rosales, Vice President for Operations John Enrizalde Manansala, Vice President for Partnership with Professional Organizations and Other Stakeholders Meljorie Cruz, Secretary Elaine E. De Guzman, SME Summit Co-Chair Atty. Paraluman Andres-Neagoe, and SME Summit Committee Member Atty. Weian Ge.
