Biography

Kerwin is admitted as a lawyer in both the Philippines and Australia (NSW) and studied law in top-ranked legal institutions in both the Philippines and Australia. He has been in the practice of law for almost 20 years and also worked and trained at one of the biggest law offices in the Philippines, handling all types of complex commercial transactions and related tax practice. Currently, he manages Tan Hassani and Counsels Law Offices with his partners and special counsels. He mainly focuses on commercial transactions, project finance, aviation law, and tax law. His experience includes handling transactions in aviation, outsourcing and offshoring to the Philippines, banking, construction, energy, information technology, manufacturing, real estate, and renewable energy. Among the notable projects he has assisted include a national railway government bid project worth US$2.8B, a renewal energy joint venture worth US$8.75B, supply of combat helicopters to the Philippine Government (National Police and Air Force) worth US$240M, aircraft financing for business jets and other aircraft acquisitions of more than US$150M, and project finance into start-up companies, among others. To date, the total transaction value he has assisted with surpasses US$10 billion. As one of the handful of aviation law practitioners, he also acts as legal counsel to several licensed air operators and flying schools in the country, appears before the civil aviation authority, and has assisted with the application to operate scheduled and non-scheduled air transport services. He is also Philippine counsel to the one of the biggest aircraft OEM in the world. On a personal capacity as pro bono work, he currently sits invited and elected as a member of the National Advisory Council, Forensics Group (National Headquarters) of the Philippine National Police. She is also a licensed real estate broker and a member of the Philippine Real Estate Board. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at a renowned full-service Philippine law firm where she handled labor disputes, civil cases, family law, immigration. In her years of practice, she now specializes on labor and employment law, real estate law, real estate taxation, and estate settlements. Her labor law practice spans from advising on employment law to labor standards law, and from assisting on administrative investigations to labor case litigation. As to her real estate law practice, she led and participated in several crucial and groundbreaking deals for clients, among which were the acquisition and sale of substantial amount of real estate properties that involve prime commercial, industrial and agricultural properties, beach resorts and commercial leases, and settlement of complex successive estates of decedents.
