SEC recently hosted an event for our next market leaders – Seen on their Official FB Page – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) welcomed students from three educational institutions for a series of tours designed to deepen their understanding of financial education, investor protection, and capital market regulation last March 2026.
Around 450 students from Miriam College (Quezon City), De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (Alabang), and Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba (Laguna) visited the SEC Headquarters for insightful discussions and fun activities.
The resource speakers were Assistant Director Jernel R. Macatangay of the Market Professionals Development Division-Economic Research and Training Department (MPDD-ERTD) and Assistant Director Guada May S. Preciados of the SEC Oversight Assurance Review (SOAR) Division of the Office of the General Accountant (OGA).
They shared insights on the Commission’s core functions, its important role in developing capital market professionals, and the indispensable contribution of the accounting and auditing profession to a robust capital market. These topics were complemented by a talk on financial education and investor protection facilitated by the External Affairs Department-Strategic Partnership and Advocacy Division (EAD-SPAD).
These educational tours form part of the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network (SEC CAN!) Initiative implemented by the EAD-SPAD. Through these engagements, the SEC continues to empower the next generation to become informed investors and future leaders in the Philippine capital market.
