The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is introducing structured warrants into the Philippine capital market, expanding the range of investment products available to investors in the country.

The Commission on September 23 issued Memorandum Circular No. 27, Series of 2026, providing for the Rules and Regulations Governing the Registration and Trading of Structured Warrants.

Under the rules, only licensed broker-dealers and licensed investment houses incorporated in the Philippines, or foreign corporations duly licensed to do business in the Philippines, may act as issuers of structured warrants.
