As seen on SEC’s official Facebook – The ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF), currently chaired by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Philippines, is exploring closer collaboration with Central Asian regulators through the CAREC Capital Markets Development Forum (CMDF) to strengthen regional capital market connectivity and expand ASEANโs engagement with emerging markets beyond Southeast Asia.
Supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the initiative is envisioned as a mutually beneficial platform through which the CMDF may draw lessons from the ACMF model, widely regarded as one of Asiaโs most effective platforms for regional capital market cooperation, as it works toward institutionalizing its own regional mechanisms.
In line with these efforts, SEC Commissioner McJill Bryant T. Fernandez participated in the panel session titled โCAREC-ASEAN Capital Market Pathwaysโ during the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors held from 03 to 06 May 2026 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
