ADVISORY: 𝗕𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗥 𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦

BIR warns the public on their Official Facebook Post- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) warns the public against fraudulent text messages and online notices falsely claiming to be from the BIR, particularly those alleging unpaid taxes, imposing urgent deadlines or penalties, and directing taxpayers to click on suspicious links.

The public is advised to exercise caution and not click links contained in unsolicited text messages, especially those requesting payment or personal and financial information.

For verification and online BIR transactions, taxpayers should access the official BIR website directly at www.bir.gov.ph and use only the eServices, platforms, and payment channels linked or officially announced by the BIR.

Taxpayers are further reminded:

* Do not provide TIN details, passwords, OTPs, banking information, credit card details, or other sensitive information through suspicious links or messages.

* Do not make payments through links or accounts sent through unsolicited text messages.

* Verify any alleged tax liability directly with the concerned Revenue District Office (RDO) or through official BIR channels.

* Report suspicious messages, websites, or accounts impersonating the BIR.

Scammers may use the BIR name, logo, Fabricated assessments, FAKE taxpayer info and threats of penalties or immediate payment deadlines to make fraudulent communications appear legitimate.
