As seen on SEC’s Official FB – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in collaboration with the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), held the second leg of its Sustainability Reporting Capacity-Building Series on July 29 at the JG Summit Holdings Corporate Head Office in Pasig City.

The โ€œMateriality and Value Chain Impact Identification Trainingโ€ responds to one of the priority areas identified through the training needs assessment survey conducted in March, which showed that companies continue to face challenges in determining which sustainability-related risks and opportunities (SRROs) are material, and in identifying their current and anticipated impacts across the value chain.

In her welcome remarks, SEC Corporate Governance and Finance Department Director Rachel Esther J. Gumtang-Remalante emphasized the importance of identifying information that is material to each company and understanding the impacts arising from its value chain.

โ€œMateriality assessment helps companies focus on the matters that have greatest relevance to the companyโ€™s long-term value creation and resilience,โ€ Director Gumtang-Remalante said.
